The University of North Carolina Tarheels served as the inspiration for the colorway of the Air Jordan 3, known as “UNC 2020,” which is based on the color blue. The Air Jordan 3 with the “UNC” design was first made available to players exclusively at the 2018 NCAA Men’s March Madness Basketball Tournament. It is currently back available to the general market as a stand-alone release. The retail Air Jordan 3 “UNC” has a white tumbled leather base with hits on the toe and mid-panel, just like the PE version. A Jordan 3-specific elephant print on the toe, lateral panel, and heel contrasts with a solid white leather mudguard along the mudguard. A light grey outsole and black Jumpman branding on the heel complete the ensemble.
